Welcome to Johnny O's shit list. The following companies/individuals have REPEATEDLY proven themselves to be unreliable and a pain in the ass.

1) Nikon USA - I've purchased THREE N-70 bodies from Nikon, ALL of which have had the SAME problem of the negatives/slides overlapping. Also, they have repeatedly botched repairs on two different camera bodies of mine. costing me a bunch of dough in reshoots)

2) Sprint PCS - Call waiting, caller ID, three-way calling and the UNADVERTISED feature of call dropping!! (doesn't state anything about it in the literature) Also have had several years worth of technical glitches that have driven me nuts and not allowed people to get through to me. i'm on cingular now and relaize that all mobile services tie for last. :(

3) Pacific Bell DSL - Here's where it gets nutty, kooky, and zany. They gave me an appointment to come out on a Saturday. I had to be around from 8 am to 5 pm. for the installation guy to show. He didn't. When I called to complain the following Monday, the girl on the phone said that TODAY (Monday) was supposed to be the install date. So I waited around another day. (this makes 2 days, for those of you playing at home) No one showed again. The "800" number puts you on perpetual hold and my cordless phone battery only has 4 hours of talk time LOL.  Now they tell me that someone cancelled the order all together and we have to start from scratch all over again. My reply was "They put a rover on Mars, you would think they could get someone out to my pad on one of those days..."  If you're REALLY bored, and would like to be put on hold for hours on end, or are approached at a bar by someone who is undesirable, give them this number 888.900.9933. Let me know if you fare better than I. I wound up canceling my order with them and got a cable modem. :). 

4) Mindspring - Someone got my password on an old dialup account which is hardly used,  the account was not unlimited usage. The bill was over $100 for the month due to the amount of hours. They wouldn't credit the account. I changed the password, went to unlimited use for $19.95/month. Someone stole it again, right away, (not sure how) and was logging on SIMULTANEOUSLY as I was. Mindspring was charging in the neighborhood of   $40, $60 and $90 for the last three months of use. Stating that the $19.95/month was for a SINGLE user, and since the account was not a single user, (I forgot to consider my password stealer!!) they were going to keep the charges "as is" and they did. What great customer service!! I cancelled my account with them.

5) Pacific Bell (again) This one REALLY takes the cake.  The wires in the only phone jack in the apartment get damaged so we have NO dial tone at all in the house. (which means the security door that controls entry into our building via intercom is dead. this will make more sense later)

I call 611 repair from my cell phone on wednesday morning, i make an appointment for the same day. after 20 minutes of prompts i get to talk to someone with a pulse. i SPECIFICALLY instruct her that the service technician will need to call my CELL PHONE (which i get really shitty coverage on, see #2 above ) to tell me he's outside and needs entry to the building and that there is NO onsite manager present. (i hear her typing so i figure she's actually making the notes)

i'm here all day and NO ONE shows. (i sure do wait around a lot. to see what kind of trouble i get into left in my house all day click here.)

i call the following week and tell them that no one ever came out to our apartment.  the guy on the line (who took an additional 20 minutes worth of prompt to get to) tells me that a service technician DID arrive on the first day i called, but he couldn't gain entry to the building.  my cell phone didn't ring all day.

i asked him why he didn't call me cell phone since it was my only way of contact and he replied with:

"none of our service technician's carry cell phones, he had no way to get in touch with you, so he left"

i guess the phone company never figured they'd need a phone.
